Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School’s library was established in 1959, it was just a small room for both Primary and Secondary schools. In the early days, there was an overcrowded problem for students from both schools. Until 1965, the Secondary students were moved to the new building which was located on the opposite side of the faculty of Education and it allowed the school to split the library for one of each school. However, the total control was still under the Secondary school, buying books and necessary equipment. After a while the management of both schools agreed that they would separate their administrative work completely due to the inconvenience and many other problems so each school appointed their own librarians to operate.

Since 1967, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School’s students have increased so the size of the school must be increased as well. The school received the budget to build the new building called “Administrative Building” which moved every administrative unit to this building. In 1983, the library moved to the fourth floor and in 2004, the library moved to the Saladekdee 45 Years Building. The IT part was added to service students with the internet for searching purposes and the ASEAN room was added in 2013.

From June 2020 to the present days, the library moved to the second floor of the Anekprasong Building on the Suan Sueksa side. The name of the library was changed to “Educational Information Center(Library)” in the second semester of the 2022 academic year.

Vision

Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School’s library focuses on becoming the supporting institute for academic and research for teachers, pre-service teachers, students and personnel of the school. Moreover, the library is the source of knowledge outside of the classroom; it’s the place to do research, develop critical thinking and also the place  to encourage everyone to read frequently.
