Social Studies, Religion, and Culture Learning Area at Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School is responsible for organizing instruction across five major subjects: Religion, Morals, and Ethics; Civics (Citizenship); Economics; History; and Geography.
Our curriculum is aligned with the Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (2008) and the Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School Curriculum B.E. 2562 (2019). We emphasize providing students with precise knowledge, analytical thinking skills, and creative problem-solving abilities. We aim to cultivate ethical individuals who can live harmoniously in society through active learning, interdisciplinary integration, and student-centered approaches.
Beyond the classroom, we organize various activities to foster quality human resources for society, such as:
- Social Studies Camps and CUD Outreach for Rural Schools.
- Morning Dhamma (Ethics) Sessions.
- Social Studies Academic Competitions.
History
Social Studies, Religion, and Culture Learning Area was established in 1958 alongside the school's founding, initially named as the Social Studies Department. In the 2006 academic year, it was renamed the Social Studies, Religion, and Culture Learning Area in accordance with the National Education Act B.E. 2542 (1999).
Vision
To develop the Learning Area to be a knowledge hub and reference source for social studies education management, and to achieve excellence in the professional development of teachers in social studies.
