The Guidance Center was originally known as the Exploration Activity subject, which was only offered to M.3 (9^th Grade) students to explore their options for further education. The activity was initially managed by T. Pilai Yamngamlerd (Chayakul), M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and Guidance.

In 1974, the Exploration Activity subject was introduced to all M.3 (9^th Grade) classrooms with the objectives of providing guidance for further education and preventing and solving student problems. The following year, the Guidance Unit gained additional personnel: T. Nongluck Prasert (M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and Guidance) and T. Juree Wathikthinakorn (M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and Guidance).

In 1981, the Guidance Activity subject was incorporated into all grade levels. The policy focused on preparing students for higher education institutions by providing individual counseling on choosing study plans that align with the students' abilities, aptitudes, and interests. Additionally, the Unit managed the application process and selection of faculties for M.6 (12th Grade) students applying for higher education institutions, where students received their examination numbers directly from the guidance counselors. Furthermore, the Unit conducted research to monitor the university selection results of each student cohort, disseminating the information to parents, teachers, junior students, and the public.

Subsequently, the Guidance Activity changed its affiliation to the Guidance Subject Group and later became the Guidance Center when the Guidance Activity was moved to be under the Student Development Activities Group.

Since its establishment, sequentially moving from the Guidance Unit to the Guidance Subject Group, and then to the Guidance Center, the following individuals have served as the Head of the Unit:
