Department of Thai

Thai Language Learning Area provides Thai language education for students in Grades 7–12 (Secondary 1–6). We also organize various Thai language skill enhancement activities on appropriate occasions, such as Sun Thorn Phu Day and Thai Language Day to develop students’ Thai language proficiency, enabling them to communicate accurately, creatively, and aesthetically.

History

  • 1958: Established as the Thai Language Department, responsible for teaching Thai at both primary and secondary levels.
  • 1969: Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School split into two divisions: Primary and Secondary. The Thai Language Department then focused exclusively on the secondary level.
  • 2006: Renamed from the "Thai Language Department" to the "Thai Language Learning Area" in accordance with the National Education Act.
